3 cakes in a Row

Ola everyone !

It has been a busy weekend and I have finally got the time to blog about the few orders I received last saturday. All the 3 orders I received were needed on saturday and to be honest, having just me and myself I have got no idea what I was going to do. But Thank God I managed to send them out in time.
So, the first cake I am going to blog about is a Chocolate Cake.

To be honest, I have got no clues on what I was going to do. My customer has requested for a chocolate cake and she mentioned that her mother loves chocolate. Just fyi, this is a birthday cake my customer ordered for her mom. So I thought why not decorate it with chocolate. I mean MORE chocolates. At last, I created some chocolate shapes with chocolate drizzles.

Just so you know, I scraped very piece of chocolate in the picture and the chocolate on the side which I called it the fence were made up of chocolate drizzle. Just hoping to see more details on the cakes itself rather than just normal ganache you see out there. (Ganache is the shinny layer of chocolate you can see on the chocolate cake U normally eat. It is made up of whipping cream and cooking chocolate.)

This is how it looks from the top. It is all covered with chocolate curls and I've completed the whole look by adding a red ribbon.

The second order that I am going to blog about is a full moon cupcake order. This customer wanted a combination of sweet colors. So I used yellow, light yellow, soft pink, sky blue, violet and so.

I didn't have any moulds so all of these were hand made. I gotta roll out the fondant piece by piece to create the 3D look especially the tiny feet here, it took me forever. The tiny little toes were just so time consuming but i guess it was worthy cause it was just so adorable. haha.

Alot of people may not know the hard work of the baker, it takes alot of time, effort and passion to create something like this. I started making them at 10.30 am and I got to bed at 2am the next day just to complete 2 orders. Pretty crazy but nothing beats the satisfaction I get when i look at these pictures. I hope you enjoy the pictures too. :)

Last order for that weekend was a kit kat cake.
I used those chocolate shapes I made earlier to cover the top and I added some little heart shape to it. This was also a birthday cake my customer ordered for her boyfriend. So I decided to use a heart shape pan.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading. Do contact annswonderbar@gmail.com for more informations.
Thanks again for your time and have a nice day ! :)

Roses Red Velvet Cake

Today i will be blogging about one of the order i received few days back. A customer was telling me about my instagram picture of the Red Velvet Roses Cupcakes and how she wished to try it. So what happened was she ordered the Red Velvet and requested it to be in an actual cake form.
and so this is what happened. . . . .

I created a rose cake for her. I wanted to do an ombré effect but I realize I have made too much deep pink frosting and there is nothing left for me to do the middle tone pink. So this became the end result.
Since its a Red Velvet cake, all the roses are made up of cream cheese. This was also the most challenging part because cream cheese frosting tends to melt and gets runny unlike butter frosting. I might have ruin the whole cake if these cream cheese got runny. So i gotta be quick and make sure the cheese are cold enough to frost.

I am pretty happy with how it looked and of course i am glad my customer love it too. To be honest, I was kinda worry how the texture might turns out because everywhere ran out of supply for buttermilk. So I decided to make my own buttermilk. LOL. and yes it is possible. The stores will probably charge u 8 bucks(600ml) for a really simple few steps buttermilk that you can literally create at home. But anyway, I was overwhelmed when she told me how well balanced the cake was and how much her family liked it. So grateful for her feedback. Wondering how it will be on the inside. Showing it to you in 3... 2 ... 1 ...

TA-DA ! :D

Picture from Customer

This cake itself is very soft and moist. It is definitely the kind of red velvet cake i would die for and i am serious. haha. Anyway, just in case u are curious about how heavy this cake was, this cake weight 2kg ++. This is just a 2-layer Red Velvet. I will try a 3-layer next time. ;)
